Conference Call Transcripts
David Jackson of the Seeking Alpha Blog Network has pulled a little outsourcing of his own.
He paid a company in India to transcribe the conference calls of major public US companies, he is making the transcripts available for free. See the list of transcripts below
Very cool use of outsourcing (I wonder what it actually costs?). I'd imagine that a lot of people will find these transcripts useful.

If I'm not mistaken, Thompson already provided a fee-based service similar to this (possibly on earnings.com). I'd be interested to know what Dave's costs were for this - this could be the beginning of something big if an ad-based blog could support this long term.

Thomson's service - Streetevents - uses a similar model but obviously charges for it. CallStreet was doing the same thing with MBA students. David is a smart guy - so I'm sure he's got an angle on it - but I wonder if ads can pay for it!

Now he only needs google to index them.

Thanks for the kind write-up, Barry. Wanted to also let you know: I *think* you can actually subscribe to an RSS feed of all the conference call transcripts and excerpts we publish on all the Seeking Alpha stock blogs. The RSS url is:

If anyone tries this and it works, let me know!
David
