A million a month??
It's really time somebody starts advertising on your site...

Sorry for the triple post, but there there is a noticeable correlation between visits to your site and market corrections. It would be interesting to see a daily breakdown of site visits vs. VIX.

Barry, article in Boston Globe on credit card companies wooing subprime mortgagers...

I think this confirms some of your earlier thoughts.

Congratulations with August. You have acquired at least one new regular reader since then. Me.

Congratulations, well deserved.
Add this to the oxymoron list:
"risk arbitrage"

Dr. Brett (traderfeed.blogspot.com) observed the same correlation with his blog. It makes sense we would be hungrier for direction in times of market stress.

For a financial blog that is a remarkable number of views ... particularly for a site that doesn't dumb down the info.

Nobody goes to TBP anymore...it's too crowded.

What do you attribute to having resulted in the Aug 07 spike?
Posted by: Eclectic | Sep 4, 2007 11:30:28 PM
It could have been higher but I use google reader. I bet a high number of hits are search related. Right Barry?
Keep them coming.

Clearly this indicates that Barry contrived this market correction as a means of increasing his adwords revenue.

That is great news. You have worked hard to reach the million mark. Your raw and unvarnished writing is going to pay dividends in the long run.
Maybe you could write a finance or investment column for Rolling Stone. You cover the subject matter in a way that is hip, accessible, and keeps readers coming back for more.
Best Wishes.

There's a simple explanation, everyone.
It's called "The flight to quality."

Congrats Barry -
I see more and more URL references to your blog as time passes . Folk are catching on . Always good info you provide , and its very tempered . No Cramerisms . Thanx again !!

congrats and i hope you will continue the quality work....really well deserved. BTW your blog is not ultra bearish (doom and gloom kind)
so far i have not been able to find a financial blog which supports bullish sentiments.
Posted by: techy2468 | Sep 5, 2007 10:00:15 AM
Looks like you've got a nice "in-house" market sentiment indicator...
I bet traffic peaked @ 8/16-17. Just a guess.
Thanks for your work!

Thats not to impresive you know. your avg page view per visit is 1.2 thats awful. Based on the amount of visits you should be clearing at least 10mil. You really should think about some drastic measure, to be online for so long and generate 1mil pageviews, and to even put it up on ur HP is ridiculous, u have never doen internet before have you ?
