Money Tech
Paul Kedrosky and Tim O'Reilly are the hosts of a new conference being held in November February: Money Tech. Its a look at the intersection of Technology and Money, Asset Management and Networks, Computing Horsepower and Trading.
Money Tech conference = Technology and Money, Asset Management and Networks, Computing Horsepower and Trading + Prediction Markets
Last night was the pre-conference dinner. I met quite a few fascinating people who I know only via their sites and/or email (in order of my surprise upon meeting them or just seeing them there!):
Robin Hanson, George Mason University (expert on information/prediction markets)
Pip Coburn, now of Coburn Ventures (formerly of UBS)
Kris Tuttle, Research 2.0
Nouriel Roubini, RGE Monitor (whom I have met many times before; I have been the guest blogger for RGE for over a year now)
Roger Ehrenberg, Monitor 110
Tony Berkman, Majestic Research
Michelle Leder, Footnoted.org
All told, a fascinating cross section of folk
(I was totally unsurprised to see Michelle there, as she and I and Paul walked over there together . . . )

CNBC used Kedrosky to opine on the Canadian currency reaching par on OTM. Never heard him opine on the subject heretofore. Me, I've been buying Canadian in the low .70's thru the high .80s. WTF does Kedrosky know? He merely has a jaw that flaps.
