Pfizer edges out Microsoft for #2

Wednesday, February 04, 2004 | 05:17 PM

Here's a little tidbit worth noting:

Pfizer (PFE) made a new 52 week high today, touching $38.45. Meanwhile, Microsoft (MSFT) slid 24 cents. That vaults Pfizer into the #2 position by market cap, behind behemoth General Electric (GE).

Market Caps

GE       $333.156

PFE       $292.58

MSFT     $291.411

Surprising move by Pfizer . . . Does this mean that the recent tech run, which peaked on January 16, 2004, and was given a push by Cisco last night, is now giving way to a rotation to quality?

This will be worth watching.
