House Votes Down Bailout Bill; Dow Down 716
They disliked the plan at the open, and -- apparently -- disliked NOT having the plan even more! Yays are 205, Nays are 228 . . . Vote wrangling continues, as 6 switchers gets the flawed-but-probably-better-than-nothing bailout plan passed . . .
Market off of its lows -- Dow off 650, worsening from the post 701-bounce. Nasdaq down 167, or down 7.62%.
VIX spikes to 46.
ITS A SHAME THERE ARE NO SHORTS WHO WOULD OTHERWISE BE COMING IN ABOUT NOW TO COVER. (HASN'T ANYONE AT THE SEC EVER WORKED ON A TRADING DESK?)
