The scale of the destruction is hard to imagine until seen from this satellite perspective; Its truly horrific and astounding.

Note the white building  still standing in the center of the top third of the photos -- it is likely a church / temple of newer construction; Pretty much everything else is gone . . .

The scale at the original links -- before and after -- is about 8X these photos;  The details are much more revealing there (safe for work/no bodies) . . .
