Oh how I have missed the LIRR CFH posts. I ride Metro North from CT and we have quite a few of our own. I ride into NY in the afternoons and back home at night, usually. I long for riding with the regular commuters instead of the tourists.

Last night we had "The Loud" family in front and the chatty girlfriends behind.

I commuted on the LIRR from 1996-2002. In the early, pre-cell phone boom days, I was able to read books or otherwise sit quietly and unwind. Once cell phones really took off, it was all over. You couldn't read for 5 minutes without some idiot blabbering something useless into their phone like, "I'm on the train". I don't miss commuting and I feel for those who still have to deal with the LIRR. Did they ever institute "Quiet Cars" where cell phones wouldn't be allowed?

Anyway, check this site... for some funny videos of people bashing other's cell phones.
